Handlethekettle made the perfect start to his career with Racing Club and Jamie Snowden, running out a comfortable winner on his first start in the UK at Worcester on Monday.
After his promising hurdles debut with his previous connections, Jamie targeted the race at Worcester as the perfect opportunity to get a win under his belt on stable debut, and he was duly sent off as the 1/2 favourite. He jumped off well at the start, and quickly took control of the race, aiming to make all from the front. Despite running with plenty of greenness, the outcome of the race was never in doubt and after pulling clear on the run-in, Gavin Sheehan gave him an easy time of things to eventually finish a length ahead of the runner-up Ballytechno.
It was a hugely promising performance from Handlethekettle and it was lovely to see so many of his fantastic owners there to cheer him home. We’re now eagerly awaiting his next race now, as he looks set for a huge season ahead.
