How to Get to Catterick Racecourse?
Getting to Catterick Racecourse could not be simpler! Whether you are a local or travelling from further afield, here’s info for you to consider ahead of your arrival.
By Road
Catterick Racecourse is situated just off the A1 about five miles south of Scotch Corner, on the outskirts of the Catterick Village. Racegoers coming from the North/South should exit the A1 at J52. Follow the brown signs to the racecourse.
By Rail/Bus
Darlington Railway Station is approximately 15 miles away.
Arriva operates a regular bus service from the railway station.
Shuttle Bus & Taxis
Catterick Racecourse provides a free shuttle bus service from Richmond Town Centre every race day. It leaves approximately one hour before the first race and will return after the last.
By Bike/On Foot
Catterick Racecourse is situated on the Coast-to-Coast walking route – further information can be found via the site.
For those planning to cycle, there is a bicycle rack in the Annual Badge Holder & Disabled Car Park.
By Helicopter
There are landing facilities available by prior arrangement by contacting the Racecourse Office.
Where to Get Tickets?
Tickets can be purchased online from the Catterick Racecourse website as well as on the day (subject to availability). All pre-paid tickets may be collected from the Racecourse Office.
Car Parking
All car parks are free of charge. The south Catterick Village car park at the end of the site is for disabled parking and annual card holders. Trackside parking is first come, first serve.
Accessibility
Personal assistants/carers are entitled to apply for one complimentary admission ticket. The majority of the outside areas are tarmacked, and there is also a raised viewing platform and a lift to the bars and restaurants.
Guide dogs ONLY are allowed into the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure.

Catterick Racecourse Enclosures
Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure
In the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure, guests have access to the Parade Ring and Winners’ Enclosure area. Offering great views of the flat and National Hunt Racecourse, guests can expect a range of food and drink outlets, too. Including the Winning Streak Restaurant and the Paddock Cafe, the Champions Bar and Buffet and the Gods Solution Bar.
Picnics are not permitted in this Enclosure.
Course Enclosure
Situated in the centre of the track with views of both racecourses, this is a picnic enclosure with a bar with hot and cold snacks. It has an indoor children’s play area, an outdoor playground, betting facilities, and additional attractions during the summer holiday.
What to Wear?
There is no formal dress code in operations at Catterick Racecourse.
Racegoers are simply advised to wear smart casual clothing and, of course, dress for the weather!
Food & Drink
There are various bars and restaurants available to those in both enclosures.
The Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure have various bars and a restaurant for racegoers. Picnics are not permitted.
For guests at the Course Enclosure, picnics are permitted, with alcohol limited to personal consumption only. There is also the option to purchase hot and cold snacks.
