Unknown Journey is a syndicate horse exclusive to Oddschecker Unlimited members. He is an exciting 2-year-old colt who has shown plenty of promise in his first two races. Trained by Paul Attwater at Newlands Stables in Upper Lambourn, Paul and the team are confident Unknown Journey will be in the winners’ enclosure soon enough and he looks set for a promising career ahead.
He has an impressive pedigree, having been sired by Inns Of Court, who was a Group 2 winner and two-time Group 1 runner-up in France, amassing almost £500,000 in prize money during his four-year career. His dam’s sire Harbour Watch went unbeaten in his short career, winning all three races as a two-year-old, including the Group 2 Richmond Stakes at the Goodwood Festival.
After a promising debut on the all-weather at Kempton that saw him finish sixth, he put in an improved effort next time out to finish a close fourth on soft ground at Brighton, despite being slowly away at the start. He stayed on strongly in that race, which does suggest he should improve once he is stepped up in trip.
Assistant trainer Charlie Pike has told us “I really like him, he’s shown us plenty since he arrived at the yard. He’s only had the two races so far over seven furlongs, but I think he will come into his own once we step him up in trip. He’s a good-looking colt, with a strong pedigree and I’m sure he’s a horse who has plenty of wins in him.”
Unknown Journey looks to have an exciting future ahead, and we’re confident we’ll enjoy plenty of great days out with him.
