We are delighted to announce the latest addition to Racing Club – BLACKWATERFOOT.
The three-year-old gelding looks to be an exciting recruit to our ranks, with a notable pedigree, and we cannot wait to see him in action this season.
Available for just £25 per share, Blackwaterfoot offers a great opportunity to start or expand your racehorse share collection. Blackwaterfoot is trained by Paul Attwater at Newlands Yard in Upper Lambourn.
Regarding the naming of the horse, there is a story behind it….
Recently a post on X (which you can view HERE) was brought to our attention, regarding someone who was sadly diagnosed with terminal cancer, who had always dreamed of naming a racehorse.
Of course we wanted to help, so we reached out to his granddaughter Niamh, who informed us he would like to name the horse Blackwaterfoot, after his favourite holiday destination (Blackwaterfoot is a picturesque village in the Isle Of Arran, Scotland).
Blackwaterfoot’s sire is American thoroughbred Medaglia d’Oro, who was a three-time Grade 1 winner, amassing an impressive £3.6 million in prize money. Those Grade 1 wins all came on the dirt, whilst he also finished runner-up twice in the Breeders’ Cup Classic, in what was an illustrious career.
Since being sent to stud, he has produced multiple stars, including the likes of Golden Sixty (10 x Group 1 winner in Hong Kong), Songbird (9 x Grade 1 winner, including Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies) Rachael Alexander (5 x Grade 1 winner, including the Kentucky Oaks), and Plum Pretty (2 x Grade 1 winner, including the Kentucky Oaks).
Blackwaterfoot’s Dam is eight-time winner Tempus Fugit, who has produced the likes of Grade 2 winner Majestic River, and two-time all-weather winner Tempus Temporis. With both of his parents producing multiple winners, we’re confident that Blackwaterfoot will have a bright and exciting career ahead of him.
