Where to Get Tickets?

Tickets for the events at Cartmel Racecourse can be purchased directly from the website. You can also buy them on the day, but please bear in mind that these are subject to availability. We recommend booking in advance and buying tickets directly from our website in plenty of time before the events. And under 18’s go free!

Guide dogs are welcome as long as they are on leads all day, and blue badge holders can pre-book accessible Paddock parking by contacting the Racecourse Office. Assistants and carers are also admitted free of charge; contact the racecourse ahead of time to make arrangements.

Cartmel Racecourse Enclosures

Paddock Enclosure

Upgrade to Paddock tickets for the premium Cartmel experience, which is full of so many things to do to enjoy your day. Access all vendors with free movement between Course and Paddock, parade ring viewing, restaurants, entry to the grandstand, and so much more.

Course Enclosure

Course tickets offer racegoers admission to the Course Enclosure, where they can enjoy the Cartmel Racecourse funfair, food and drinks stand, betting stands, and more. This is the perfect option for families after a relaxed day out.

What to Wear?

The requested dress code at Cartmel is smart casual – especially in the Paddock Enclosure and the restaurant areas. Racegoers are asked to wear shirts in all enclosures, although t-shirts and shorts are accepted during hot weather.

Wellies and rain macs are recommended for wet weather as most of Cartmel Racecourse is grassy, so please ensure that suitable footwear and attire are worn. Umbrellas are also allowed, come rain or shine.

Most importantly, though, Cartmel Racecourse wishes for its guests to dress for their own comfort (and the unpredictable English weather!)

Food & Drink

So many delicious food and drink options are available to racegoers at Cartmel. With picnics and alcohol permitted and even highly encouraged, no matter where you are joining us, you won’t be short of options for what to eat and drink. There are two main restaurants and plenty of exciting food stalls around the course.

The racecourse is proud to promote local businesses and products. Grab yourself a true Cumbrian ale fresh from the barrel and as many culinary delights as you can possibly eat.
