Described as one of the UK’s most prestigious racing venues, it hosts up to 30 races yearly, both jumps and flat.  Newbury has three large grandstands, 42 syndicate rooms, and the Royal Box, making it the perfect venue for any event! How to Get to Newbury Racecourse?

There are so many ways to travel to Newbury Racecourse:

By Car

The Racecourse is very accessible from the North, East or West via the M4 – visitors attending from these directions should specifically use the postcode RG14 7PN and follow signs to appropriate car parks. Other visitors travelling via the A34 or A339 should use postcode RG14 7NZ.

By Rail

Newbury Racecourse has its very own station. Just a stop on from Newbury station, it has direct trains from London Paddington, making it easy to get to with a short train ride.  On arrival at Newbury Racecourse station, there is a short walk to the Racecourse, where you can find the main gate.

By Air

Newbury Racecourse is just an hour from Heathrow and Southampton airports, with both airports serving several popular destinations.

Where to Get Tickets?

On arrival at  Newbury Racecourse, you can expect lots of free parking!  Car parks 4 & 5 stay open all day on race days, and Racecourse Members and hospitality guests have priority parking within these car parks. You can be sure of an unforgettable day filled with exciting races, breathtaking views, and lovely food and drink. With their wide range of packages and experiences, there’s something for everyone at Newbury Racecourse.  To secure your place at the races, head to their website for a full range of ticket options. They highly recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment, but if you decide not to and want to purchase on the day, tickets will also be available at the gate. 

Children are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by an adult.  There is a race day crèche for children between the ages of 3 months and 8 years based at the Rocking Horse Nursery on-site, where you can leave your children for free for up to 2 hours. There are also lots of baby-changing and feeding areas. Dogs are not permitted at Newbury Racecourse, with the exception of registered guide/assistance dogs. There is full access to both enclosures for wheelchair users, and the viewing platform for live music events can be pre-booked by calling  01635 40015 before attending.  There are plenty of accessible toilets located within all three stands and the Crafty Filly.

Premier Enclosure 

Along with access to all the Grandstand areas, the Premier enclosure will provide you with the best views of the races, and you’ll be close to the finish line, where you’ll have the choice of indoor and outdoor bars and eateries and seating areas on the lawn.

Grandstand Enclosure

The Grandstand Enclosure will provide standard views of the racecourse, lots of unreserved seating, and sheltered areas in case of bad weather.  There is access to the bars and food outlets in and around the Grandstand Building.

What to Wear?

In the Premier Enclosure, Racegoers are encouraged to wear smart clothes, but most racegoers dress to impress for their special day!

Smart shorts, smart denim jeans (not ripped) and trainers are permitted. Fancy dress and football/sports shirts are not allowed.

The Grandstand Enclosure has a more relaxed vibe for the dress code, with a non-offensive fancy dress welcome. Football/sports team shirts are not permitted as in the Premier enclosure.  There is no dress code for children under 12 attending the races.

Food & Drink

At Newbury Racecourse, various food and drinks are available on race days.  

With Vegan/gluten-free/Dairy offerings, there is definitely something for everyone!

There are two excellent restaurants: the award-winning fine dining Hennessy, which offers panoramic views overlooking the winning post and the Racegoers Restaurant, which is ideal for celebrating informal work days or for family occasions. Then, the Lounge 303, which has been recently refurbished, offers racegoers an exclusive VIP but casual club experience with incredible views of the final straight and finish line.
